What America needs right now? A Republican ? or A Democrat?

Now that the whole world is gearing up to put the chaotic 2020 behind and is on it’s toes to welcome 2021 with open arms, it’s a no brainer that the entire human race is praying for the new year to be better and cheerful.

As we are inching towards 2021 with a new hope and zeal, what we will also be witnessing is the transfer of political power from the Republicans to the Democrats in the United States of America, which will gradually bring significant changes to various sectors globally. Now that the entire world is eagerly waiting to witness this political shift, the most obvious question that arises among ourselves is what will this change bring to the table? what are America's political needs in the first place?, does it need a Republican or a Democrat? how about a Libertarian? why not a Conservative?

As a nonimmigrant living in the US for almost six years with a quest for shaping a better career, I did encounter these questions, and to some extent, they made me uncomfortable as they were tightly coupled with an obscure future. However, a part of me became curious, and motivated my brain muscle to break free and express my honest opinion to these questions, so here it goes:

“The America that I have seen, neither needs a Democrat/Libertarian, nor a Republican/Conservative at this time” Instead, it is in dire need of a progressive leader. A leader who is disciplined, erudite, visionary, well articulated, not afraid of taking bold decisions and is sensible enough to prioritize nations interests. The only leader who possessed all these qualities in my opinion is the legendary “Douglas MacArthur”.

Douglas MacArthur was an American five-star army general, master tactician and the Supreme Commander of the United States armed forces in the far east division during the Japanese invasion of Philippines.

Even as the Supreme Commander, he always prioritized peace over war, saving lives over creating chaos and worked tirelessly towards making the world a better place.

Even to this day, I find MacArthur the most compelling. Those Ray-Bans, that corncob pipe, that man didn’t lack the confidence, brilliant tactician, master motivator, not to forget, he also went on to successfully lead the U.S. Olympic Committee during the 1928 summer olympics at Netherlands and played a crucial role in securing over 50 medals for the United States.

Mr. MacArthur once famously said “old soldiers never die; they just fade away” and the America that I have seen needs neither a Democrat, nor a Republican, instead, it needs another iconic and a progressive leader like the legendary “Douglas MacArthur”.

Good Luck America, may you find another Douglas MacArthur!
